KITI CITY, in the Federated States of Micronesia, is a new city—at least in my mind. The inhabitants are unaware of this transformation from a municipality into a city, but the Klemenza Archive is working on it, and with a little help from "Uncle Adobe," it will surely become a city.
Wikipedia is unaware of Klemenza’s plans for the area and provides an accurate description of the region as it is—and as it has been:
Kiti is one of the twelve administrative divisions of the Micronesian state of Pohnpei. It is located in the southwest of the island of Pohnpei, south of Mount Nanlaud.
KITICITY, in the Federated States of Micronesia, is a remarkable place—a city unlike any other. It features older buildings housing glassmakers, stock speculators, anthropologists, and order-takers—not to mention a farm where the animals live just like humans. There are no elevators in this city; one must rely on "the apostles' horses" (one's own two feet). The city is old, yet within this work of art, one is free to imagine it as brand new to Kiti Municipality—perhaps previously "gently used" somewhere else on the globe, where they simply wanted a perfectly ordinary city. In KITI CITY, animals attend school alongside children of all ages—after all, one learns as long as one lives. This is a very wise approach, though some also engage in work between their studies and play. Play is just as important as anything else; without play, there would be no KITI CITY. The city is destined to become world-famous for its games. Tourists might try to pretend they can navigate this roadless city on their own, but they would likely be better off hiring a "KityCityGuide." Welcome to the city that arrives in the fullness of time!
