THE LONG WALK

"The Long Walk: A Journey Through Betrayal and Hope"
"Step into the haunting tale of Irena, as she walks through the city not just to her home, but through a landscape of moral discovery, shadows, and dangerous truths. The streets she walks now shimmer with the neon glow of a past that refuses to be buried."

Curation for THE LONG WALK
This artwork creates a striking emotional impact through its use of light, color, and composition. The intense glow of neon pinks and blues bathes the scene in a surreal, almost otherworldly atmosphere. This contrast between the vibrant streetlights and the dark, shadowy surroundings evokes a sense of isolation and introspection. The lone figure walking down the empty street adds to this feeling—there’s a palpable sense of solitude, perhaps even melancholy, as the person moves forward into the light but remains separated from it.
The blur and ethereal quality of the lights suggest movement and transience, hinting at the impermanence of moments and memories. It can create an emotional response ranging from nostalgia to a quiet yearning for connection or meaning in an often impersonal urban environment. The cool blues mixed with warm pinks also introduce a tension between calmness and intensity, reinforcing a mood that is both mysterious and emotionally charged. Overall, this piece effectively captures the feeling of being alone in a lively, glowing cityscape, provoking introspection on loneliness amid the human rush and the poignant beauty lurking within urban isolation.

MY STORY: THE LONG WALK
This is a true story that I have personally witnessed. I also received death threats myself in the case. Names and places have been changed. Irena from Bucharest in Romania has had a bit of a day. Now the road lies ahead of her. It will be a long walk home. Irena worked until an hour ago as a recruiter in a staffing company in the city. She was responsible for HSE in the company, and she had a special responsibility to ensure that the candidates who were usually sent to other countries to work were not financially exploited. She was also responsible for checking the living conditions of the workers who worked in other countries as temporary workers. Irana is sad. She discovered that the company she worked for, before she was fired an hour ago, was operating with double contracts. A contract for the authorities that she had made herself, and which the authorities were supposed to trust when it came to wages and adequate housing. But her boss and owner of the staffing company had a different contract with the same employees, a contract that was based on almost slave wages. The boss had issued bank cards to all the foreign job candidates, and through his friend at the local bank he had duplicate bank cards. By chance Irena discovered this, and she could see from the accounts that her manager was withdrawing cash at his own discretion from the workers' accounts. Not only was this illegal, but it was recklessly immoral of the manager. Irena had copies of the duplicate contracts and said that she would report her manager if he did not return the money he had stolen from his employees. Then she was led into the street and she was clearly told that she would be watched. It would be bad for her if she went to the police. Here Irena is on her way home from the office she worked at. - completely in limbo. Was she being followed? What would they do with her? With such thoughts, the city and the way home look like in this work of art. An otherworldly atmosphere was present..
