PIXEL PUSHER: VIKING ORANGE – The North Sea Squeeze
PIXEL PUSHER: VIKING ORANGE – The North Sea Squeeze
They say the North Sea is a graveyard of iron and wood. I say it is a testing ground for the impossible.
In this second installment of my Fruit as Transportation series, we witness the raw desperation and brilliant improvisation of the Norwegian Vikings. When reinforcements were called to Dublin and the longships were gone, they turned to the colossal citrus of legend.
The Composition of the Voyage
The Vessel: A high-tensile orange rind, engineered by nature and repurposed by warriors.
The Warriors: Hand-rendered figures in traditional leather helmets, navigating a sea of foam and pith.
The Provison: A boat that doubles as a vitamin-C powerhouse—HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) may have been non-existent in the Sagas, but scurvy certainly wasn't.
