MY STORY: MORNING CAVE
About 500,000 years ago, and even further back than that, people lived in caves. They often had spears and fire to defend themselves against wild animals and other people who tried to take over their territory. We see here in this piece of art a family with a mother, father and two children, standing up to a full moon. The view from their home was a lake, which was convenient in relation to fishing for food that day. It could be cold in caves, so the inhabitants often had fires at the entrances to their entire homes. Not only for the sake of warmth, but the fire kept predators away. The youngest member of the family would wake up before the others in the family and add wood to the fire. Imagine how good it must have felt as this family stepped out into the warm sun and corresponding air! The family had a total of 3 well-functioning spears which were essential to catch the day's food intake. Whether there were birds, fish or wild boar on the "food dish" that day, no one knew. This was surely a watershed period in human history. High infant mortality and a generally low life expectancy dictated it. BUT there was no postman, or a PC with E-mail that delivered bills. THAT is absolutely certain!
