[Verse 1]
Golden sun on the concrete wall
The old shipyard is bound to fall
The sand is hot under shifting feet
A million shadows on a crowded street
The fisherman pushes his boat out slow
While the plastic umbrellas start to grow
[Chorus]
Oh, Malagueta, under the sun so bright
We drink a cold cerveza, everything's right
But the local culture is running out of space
To the heavy rhythm of a tourist place
Málaga mía... what did we do?
Singing the 1971 blues.
[Verse 2]
The guiris are laughing, enjoying the view
A little more fiesta, something brand new
We look at the lighthouse standing so tall
But the shadow of tomorrow is starting to fall
They say we can fix it, they say it's okay
But we'll push the trouble to another day
[Bridge: Dramatic electric guitar solo, retro 70s rock organ build-up]
Mira la playa, full of desire
The old world is burning in a neon fire
No time for the history, no time for the art
Just a sun-kissed dream in the tourist heart
Don't worry about the pressure, don't worry about the sorrow
We will think about the locals... mañana, mañana.
[Chorus]
Oh, Malagueta, under the sun so bright
We drink a cold cerveza, everything's right
But the local culture is running out of space
To the heavy rhythm of a tourist place
Málaga mía... what did we do?
Singing the 1971 blues.
[Outro: Music slows down to a steady acoustic groove, very soulful]
No more space for the fishing net
Underneath a golden sunset
Wave goodbye, say adiós to the heart...
